Condolences in Material Form

One of our local guilds, the Hearts and Hands Night Guild, has a wonderful way to show condolences to a grieving member.   After a member loses a spouse, a child, or a parent, each member of the guild contributes a fat quarter from a selected color scheme or group.  These fat quarters are arranged into a basket and packaged with a pattern or book.

The group then sends this “fabric bouquet” (which lasts far longer than flowers,) and creates a meaningful, memorable gift for someone who loves to sew and who will find comfort in using the fabric their friends have given them.
